NOTE TO READERS: The following article was published by WithersRavenel, a full-service civil & environmental engineering firm in North Carolina. EDR selected one of their environmental scientists for our new Developing Leaders mentor program.
A young WithersRavenel environmental scientist has been selected to take part in a prestigious mentorship program.
Lindsey Woolridge is a member of the Environmental Data Resources (EDR) Developing Leaders Class of 2019. Through the program, Woolridge has been matched with a mentor who will provide general career advice along with specific information related to the environmental consulting industry.
Woolridge recently had her first conversation with her mentor, the owner of an environmental consulting firm who has more than 30 years of experience.
“I’m looking forward to getting to know her and learn from her,” Woolridge said. “She will be able to speak knowledgeably about my career trajectory and offer suggestions about continuing education, certifications I should look into, or even additional services we could consider offering within the environmental industry.”
Woolridge believes that the structured EDR program, combined with the mentors she has at WithersRavenel, will help guide her future in the profession. “I’m always interested in learning from people who are ahead of me in their career,” she said.
Woolridge expects that what she learns and the resources provided can be shared with her peers within the WR Environmental Group as well.
Other program benefits provided by EDR include group-wide webinars with industry leaders and educational resources such as professional research articles, books and podcasts. This is the inaugural class for the EDR program.
EDR specializes in property due diligence, offering its clients information such as fire insurance maps, aerial photos and city directories, along with educational resources.
At WithersRavenel, Woolridge primarily focuses on completing Due Diligence Reports (Phase I & Phase II Environmental Site Assessments) for property transactions for private and public clients. She graduated from North Carolina State in 2012 with a degree in Natural Resources Policy & Administration.
